Go With Taj grew from something quite simple.

I’m Taj, and Go With Taj grew from something quite simple: my love for meeting people and showing them the Uganda I know.

This Is My Uganda

I love our national parks and wildlife, but when I think about Uganda, my mind doesn’t immediately go to lions and gorillas.

I think about people.

I think about conversations over food, busy Kampala mornings, roadside stops, music playing somewhere in the distance, colourful markets, sunsets over Lake Victoria and those spontaneous moments that somehow become the stories you remember most.

That’s the Uganda I want you to experience.

Why I Started Go With Taj

Over time, I realised that many travellers arrive in Uganda with an itinerary that takes them from the airport straight to a safari vehicle.

They may see extraordinary wildlife and beautiful landscapes, but sometimes leave without really experiencing everyday Uganda.

I wanted to offer something different.

Go With Taj is about slowing down enough to meet people, ask questions, taste things, walk around, laugh, listen and understand a little more about the country you’re visiting.

Sometimes we’ll spend the day exploring Kampala. Sometimes we’ll cook. Sometimes we’ll take a boat onto Lake Victoria, drive to Jinja or go dancing.

And yes, sometimes we’ll wake up before sunrise and go looking for lions.

There is room for all of it.

Travel With Me, Not Behind Me

I don’t want you to feel like you’re following someone holding a flag.

I want our experiences to feel relaxed, personal and conversational.

Ask questions. Change your mind. Stop for something interesting. Try food you’ve never heard of. Talk to people. Take too many photographs. Laugh when things don’t go exactly according to plan.

That’s travelling.

What I love sharing

The Experiences I Love Most

People

People

The best way to understand Uganda is to meet Ugandans. Wherever possible, my experiences create opportunities for genuine conversations and connections with local people.

Food

Food

Food tells stories. From the ingredients in our markets to meals prepared in family kitchens, eating together is one of my favourite ways of introducing guests to Uganda.

Cities

Cities

Kampala, Entebbe and Jinja each have their own personality. I want to help you experience them beyond their most photographed attractions.

Music & Nightlife

Music & Nightlife

Uganda knows how to have a good evening. Live music, concerts, dance, food and Kampala nightlife are part of the experience too.

A Little Adventure

A Little Adventure

Sometimes the road takes us further: to the Nile, Ziwa, Murchison Falls, the Equator, Bwindi and other corners of Uganda.

My Promise to You

My Promise to You

I can’t promise every minute will go to plan, and honestly, I hope it doesn’t. The best parts of a day with me are usually the ones nobody scheduled: the stall we stop at because it smells amazing, the stranger who turns into a friend, the song that pulls us onto a dance floor.

What I do promise is warmth, curiosity and respect for every person and place we visit. Whether we share one afternoon or several days on the road, I want you to leave with more than photographs. I want you to leave with stories.
