A Day in Jinja
Follow the road east for a day around Jinja and the Nile, combining famous places with food, conversations and local experiences.
The Nile and the people beside it: time on the river, then into the streets, markets and kitchens of Jinja.
The Nile is why most people come to Jinja. It is also why Jinja is the way it is: fishing, trading, crafts, music and a town that has always lived with the river.
We start on the water, gently, with a boat trip near the source, then step ashore to meet the people whose days are shaped by it: boatmen, fish sellers, craftspeople and the cooks who feed them.
It is the best of both Jinjas in one day: the postcard view and the everyday life behind it.
Boat captains, fish sellers, craftspeople and the owners of small riverside kitchens. Many have lived by the Nile all their lives and love explaining how it shapes their day.

A river-view lunch is included, usually fresh Nile perch or a local favourite. Tell me about diets and allergies and I will plan around them.

Pair this with Jinja With Locals on a second day for a slow, two-day Jinja.
